New Versa-Bar distribution center in Houston, Texas!
Published on January 10, 2023
American Iron (AIA), a Lawton Standard company based in Waukesha, Wis., will begin stocking Versa-Bar continuous cast iron bar products and other alloy bars (including bronze) at their sister company, QESC, in Houston, Texas. Having another distribution point will reduce transit time and improve delivery dates. The Houston outlet will also offer tubing, milling, and plate-cutting services.
President of American Iron, Rick Janes, said, “I knew that our alignment with The Lawton Standard family of foundries would further improve our customer service. However, I didn’t expect to offer additional distribution as early as the first quarter of 2023. Inquiries are already being accepted and processed through our Waukesha location to ensure materials are ready. We’re excited for folks who have used other commodity bars to try Versa-Bar. With superior machining and application performance, we’re sure the grades will be just right. Plus, our custom supply programs ensure we have the sizes they need in stock.”
The plant operations manager at QESC, Chuck Walker, said, “With the addition of the AIA and Versa-Bar products, we can offer even more services to the region from this facility. These value-added services illustrate the commitment of Lawton Standard to this important area.”
American Iron processes and distributes continuous cast iron, bronze bar, tubing, and other metal components. They also provide metal finishing and other services to the North American market. American Iron primarily focuses on ductile and gray iron in round, square, and rectangular bars under the well-known Versa-Bar brand. The bars can be processed into cut-length, tubed, milled, or slit-to-plate configurations. Sizes range from 1.5” up to 24” for all shapes to serve customers that produce and machine high-quality, gray, ductile, and austempered iron castings up to 250 pounds.
QESC offers gray iron, manganese steel, and white iron castings. Their high-speed, flaskless molding line enables the quick production of many specialty castings. In addition, QESC’s pattern shop mounts, rigs, and repairs patterns ranging in size from six inches to ten feet.
